PVC IS A MEMBER OF MOUNTAIN PARTNERSHIP

PVC’S CURRENT INITIATIVES
The Himalayan Women Trail Leaders Initiative is the winner of the 2024 Social Entrepreneurship Competition in Tourism. HWTL is made possible through its partnership with Equity Global Treks and aims to decolonize Nepal’s tourism industry through elevating, amplifying and celebrating the voices of Nepali female trekking guides. WE ARE IN SEARCH OF A WEB DEVELOPMENT VOLUNTEER TO CREATE A NEW PVC WEBSITE
We’re seeking a Website Development Volunteer to help create a new digital home for our mission of advocating for labor rights, gender equity, and visibility for the often-unseen workforce of mountain tourismโporters, trekking guides, and rural women leaders across Peru, Nepal, Tanzania, and other highland regions. We use storytelling, film, and grassroots advocacy to shift narratives in the tourism industry, and weโre looking for someone who can build a clean, modern website that reflects the strength and dignity of the communities we serve. The role involves designing and developing a site on WordPress, Squarespace, or Webflow, organizing pages for campaigns, media, and donation support, and helping integrate multimedia content such as interviews, photography, and short films. This is an ideal opportunity for a designer or developer looking to apply their skills toward meaningful social impact. In return, youโll gain unique insight into global tourism justice, collaborate with a founder-led initiative, and build a purpose-driven portfolio piece with full creative input. If you are passionate about ethical travel, human rights, or storytelling through design, weโd love to hear from you. Please reach out to theportervoice@gmail.com to help us bring this platform to life.
